Zecyte 250mg (Abiraterone), containing Abiraterone acetate, is a hormonal therapy medication used primarily for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It is particularly effective in managing metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) and metastatic high-risk castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC)

Abiraterone acetate inhibits the CYP17 enzyme, which is essential for androgen production. By blocking androgen synthesis in the adrenal glands, testes, and prostate tumor tissues, Zecyte reduces testosterone levels, slowing the growth and spread of prostate cancer.

1. Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC):

   • For patients whose cancer progresses despite low testosterone levels achieved by medical or surgical castration.

2. Metastatic High-Risk Castration-Sensitive Prostate Cancer (mHSPC):

   • Often used in combination with prednisone or prednisolone. 

• Form: Oral tablet
• Recommended Dose: Four tablets (1000 mg total) taken once daily on an empty stomach.
• Must be taken at least 2 hours after a meal and no food should be consumed for 1 hour after taking the medication.
